Our Partner the Nova Institute has become the very first organisation in South Africa to issue Gold Standard credits! For Nova and for us this is exciting news and we gladly want to share it with you!
Gold Standard credits are the most sought after credits in Europe and other parts of the world. This means that our Basa Magago Project has complied with the best international standards. The credits are issued from the top-down ignition method for domestic coal fires. For a comparatively small, but still significant number of household residents South Africa this means cleaner air, savings in cash and a better quality of life. It also feels good, that Nova has done it with a methodology that they themselves have developed. It is a significant step towards reaching one of the goals that Nova set for themselves a year ago: To grow the capability and reputation of Nova as an organisation, so that Nova is recognised as the most excellent hub for the development and promotion of ways to improve the quality of life of households in Southern Africa.
